These examinations are taken seriously by all parties involved, especially college students because the resultsare used for an array of purposes which range from placement of pupils to imparting of scholarships. Despite these types of advantages, My spouse and i strongly assume that public exams should be eliminated as they haveseveral drawbacks. � To begin with, open public examinations at some level merely test a student‘s ability to memoriseand regurgitate information. Bloom‘s taxonomy of learning ranks having these skills as reduce order considering skills. Higher order thinking abilities such as application and inference are often neglected. Students withexcellent memory excel in this sort of examinations when those with poor memorising expertise do poorly. Thus, not necessarily surprising that many students with poor remember skills loathe subjects just like History andBiology. Another good example is the Meaning Education daily news, which requires students to memorise moral values. This may not be a valid evaluation as it tests only a student‘s familiarity with values, not the practice of these beliefs. An A through this paper does not guarantee that students is a morally sound and virtuousindividual. And think about the student who gets an E? Are we indicating that he could be not a morallyupright individual? Another reason why I actually am not in favour of community examinations is that they are not the bestway to iden tify a student‘s strengths or weaknesses. This is due to these exams test onlycertain skills. Permit me to illustrate my own point. Chinese papers, for example , test a student‘s reading and writing skills only and even therefore , the range of sub-skills examined is limited.
