The purpose of this test was to evaluation whether training a lab-created rat within Partial Support Schedule required longer to extinguish than being competed in a Continuous Support Schedule. The subject involved was a computer structured rat. The rat was trained in a Skinner field to club press below each a consistent reinforcement routine and a partial reinforcement timetable. Extinction of both schedules was performed and in the past it was reported. The hypothesis is that a tipp under a partially reinforcement schedule would take longer to extinguish its behaviour rather than the ongoing reinforcement plan extinction. Outcome was analyzed underneath the complications with the conditioning with the animal beneath these schedules.

Studying the behaviours of animals has been a great importance to many psychologists. By studying animal behaviours, researchers can easily determine what impact on them, whether it is their encircling environment, reinforcements or stimuli. A very popular psychologist, Burrhus Frederic Skinner enjoyed learning animal behaviours. Skinner assumed that any response that may be followed by a reinforcing stimulation tends to be repeated (Hergenhahn and Olson, 2005). He also says that to modify a behaviour, one merely has to find something that is rewarding for the animal whose behaviors one wishes to modify (Hergenhahn and Olson, 2005). Skinner explains this kind of in his Skinner box studies. A Skinner box refers to an trial and error test holding chamber that consists of a grid flooring, lever, light and meals cup (Hergenhahn and Olson, 2005). Mainly used to study operant conditioning, which usually refers to raising the rate at which a response takes place (Hergenhahn and Olson, 2005).
