In Antigone, Sophocles positions the readers to condemn Creon as being a misogynist. In Antigone, Creon is the recently appointed leader of Thebes, and after banishing all funeral rights to Antigone's close friend, Polynices, Antigone refuses to follow this purchase and buries him anyway. Creon is pitted against Antigone who have holds up the need of the gods and the prize of her family most of all, and thus this individual appears to be against these values. His habit, however , suggests otherwise. He aggressively preaches the concept of family honor to his son, Haemon.
